New York City’s Badawi-Seraph Sound System is led by Israeli-born percussionist/composer Raz Mesinai on goatskin frame drums with Eyvind Kang on viola and Shahzad Ismaily on bass and harmonium. The trio, representing “a pyramid of sound”, will perform their middle-eastern influenced improvised music. Vampire Nation, an electronic goth-ambient project by Egyptian-born Pittsburgh composer, Frederick Von Hamilton, will also perform. Hamilton’s music merges popular and traditional Arabic music with contemporary electronic dance, hip-hop and ambient music. |
