Request for Proposals

 

The Union Project requests proposals from artists to provide summer art-making activities for youth at a weekly art and farmer’s market. Up to 16 artists will be selected for one or more weeks. Artists will be compensated. Deadline for proposals is May 15, 2004. Complete details are listed at www.unionproject.org/artists.htm .

 

Union Project Recognized for Preservation Work

 

The Union Project has been recognized by the Young Preservationists of Pittsburgh, in partnership with the Northside Leadership Conference as one of the “Top Ten Historic Preservation Opportunities of 2004”. Come join YPA and others on Monday, May 3 from 6 to 8 pm at True Café and Bartini, 900 Western Ave., on Pittsburgh’s Northside as they celebrate National Historic Preservation Week 2004 and announce the top ten preservation opportunities.

 

Stained Glass Restoration Returns to the Union Project Building

 

The Union Project would like to extend a special thank you to Construction Junction for allowing us to host our winter stained glass classes at their building!

 

Beginning this Saturday, May 1 ALL stained glass classes will be taking place at the Union Project building. Our building is located at 801 N. Negley Ave. on the corner of Stanton and Negley Avenues. If you are interested in volunteering your help with the stained glass class we have a need for help on the following dates.

 

May 1 - 10 AM Volunteer Day @ Union Project

May 12 - 6-9PM Volunteer Day @ Union Project

 

If you are interested in signing up for a stained glass class there are still 4 class sessions left this year:

Session 3: Sat. 9 a.m. – 1 pm; July 10; July 17; July 24; July 31; Aug 7; Aug 14 (reg. deadline 6/25)
Session 4: Thurs. 6 – 9 pm; July 8; July 15; July 22; July 29; Aug. 5; Aug. 12; Aug. 19; Aug. 26 (reg. deadline 6/25)
Session 5: Sat. 9 am – 1 pm; Sept 11; Sept 18; Sept 25; Oct 2; Oct 9; Oct 16 (reg. deadline 8/20)
Session 6: Thurs. 6 – 9 pm; Sept. 16; Sept 23; Sept 30; Oct. 7; Oct 14; Oct 21; Oct 28; Nov. 4 (reg. deadline 8/20)

Class fee: $175 (includes all tools and materials)
