May 26th, 2004

We've just passed the six month mark, and we want to thank the thousands of PittsburghBuzz subscribers and sponsors.

It was not that long ago that we started this thing with just an idea and a distribution list of 13 people. Through your input, referrals, feedback, sponsorship, and other support, we have been able to grow into what we are today.

As we embark on the next six months and beyond, we hope to improve upon our mission to provide you with only the best events Pittsburgh has to offer.

As always, your feedback is welcomed and appreciated. info@pittsburghbuzz.com

Wednesday, May 26th
Pittsburgh Walk and Dine Tour (Other)
Downtown

Yoggi Berra once quipped "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded'. We wish we had that kind of problem around here with downtown living. Alas, the real reason that nobody lives downtown is that it seems nobody lives downtown. The Downtown Living Initiative is doing their part to change that, and is hosting this fun event to let you explore some of the options for becoming a downtowner.

Wednesday, May 26th
Dieselboy (Dj)
Bloomfield Bridge Tavern

Whether your tan is just now fading from the Winter Music Conference or your electronic music library consists of a scratched up Rave 'til Dawn CD, you'll know the man that put Pittsburgh on the international map of drum-n-bass. Either way, you should come grab a polish platter, and catch the maestro.

Thursday, May 27th
Gompers (Theater)
City Theater

The folks in the town of Gompers are as much in need of a miracle as were Froggy and Baylis from Adam Rapp's acclaimed 'Blackbird'. Also common is the heartbreakingly funny writing and excellent acting, although the dollhouse-like setting of 'Gompers' is much more intricate and seemingly close to home.

Friday, May 28th
Margaret Cho (Comedy)
Improv

The Notorious C.H.O. hits town with her unabashed take on basically all of the topics you shouldn't discuss on a first date (politics, religion, sex, etc.).

Sunday, May 30th
Spike & Mike's Festival of Animation (Film)
Melwood Screening Room

The kings of tasteless toons are back for their 25th year with a litany of adult humored shorts that include what some are calling the most innovative use of 3D glasses ever. Having broken out of the Comicon circuit with rave reviews at Slamdance and other festivals, Spike and Mike have almost gone legit no matter how hard they try otherwise.
