Join us THIS MONDAY NIGHT, October 4, for a special screening of "GHOST IN THE SHELL," followed by an informal audience discussion led by this week's guest, RON VON BURG, a doctoral candidate in Communications and Film at the University of Pittsburgh, whose primary interest is the topic of technology as a subject in science fiction film!  (Mr. Von Burg will also be joining us again NEXT week, for another screening and discussion of the new "GHOST IN THE SHELL" sequel!)

     SPECIAL SCREENING - ONE NIGHT ONLY!  Originally released nine years ago, Mamoru Oshii's "GHOST IN THE SHELL" has since become one of the most successful and influential anime films of all time, also inspiring the new sequel, "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence," which opens next week!  Major Motoko Kusanagi is a beautiful cyborg working for Section 29, Japan's secret police force, in the year 2029.  Along with fellow cyborg Bateau, Motoko's supervisor orders her to find "Puppet Master," a sinister computer terrorist created by a rival organization.  Because their prey has the ability to hack into the minds of his enemies, the evil villain must be stopped as soon as possible!  But as the tough cops close in on their target, Motoko realizes that she and Puppet Master seem suspiciously similar...
