The 2002 Pittsburgh Public High School All City Arts Showcase exhibited at Manchester Craftsmen's Guild April 12 - May 17. This exhibition highlights the creative achievements of young artists who attend the Pittsburgh Public High Schools. Through a partnership with the Eleanor Friedberg Foundation, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, more than $70,000 in scholarships and cash awards will be made to high school seniors and juniors. Mon May 13 - Art for AIDS/Art for Change is an art auction to benefit Persad Center's AIDS care services as well as its therapeutic and educational programs. Now in its 14th year, the benefit has grown from a small auction in a local art gallery to a major event at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Nearly 2000 guests, artists and volunteers participate and over 200 pieces of art by local, national and international artists are auctioned.
