Wed Dec 18th  - Unseen Cinema: Early American Avant-Garde Film from 1893-1941. Unseen Cinema is a retrospective of the pre-Maya Deren inspired experimental film movement in America. It consists of short films (in newly restored or preserved 35mm and 16mm film prints) many of which have not been available since their creation. These shorts confirm that filmmaking as an art form is an ongoing process, and these rare examples reveal a grand experiment in cinema that continues to reverberate to this day. These are the final four in this remarkable touring exhibition.
