t element 5 element 5 - Culture Beneath the Surface

We are dedicated to bringing out the soul of grassroots culture in the city of bridges and helping build a community interconnected with the elements beneath the surface. Our goal is to promote collective creativity through a fluid intersection of people, places, ideas and vibrations. In doing so, we seek to connect independent arts and culture to the urban development of Pittsburgh and unlock the potential energy through the poetry of people in motion....

Happy New Year!

new   Jan 4th, 2003 Update   Our year in review, in brief.  Red Hot + Momentum sure lived up to its name - a fiery night of music, art, & culture completely turned the MF out.   2003 was the year of the "afterparty", countless nights of dancing + merriment until the dawn. MiniM sparked the momentum towards a community-based jazz festival. And a literal explosion in cultural activity all across the inner city - for the first time in recent memory, there was always something interesting to do each day of the week other than a mere pitcher of beer and basket of wings.   And with that, a number local musicians and artists shined beyond the 412 and onto the international stage.  Community-based summer cultural festivals were aplenty in this city and the "DJ meets live musician" scene became the new "drop-in" center for a large community to nucleate.  These are just a few of our favorite things. What were yours? We'd love to hear. Please feel free to drop us a message anytime - element5ive@yahoo.com.  All the best for you and yours in 2004 and as always, keep your good vibes strong!
