Monday, August 25th The Dark Night Cabaret
The Dark Night Cabaret is an ongoing monthly
performance series
designed to provide a forum for the local arts
community and to facilitate the
development of new work. The cabaret is an opportunity
to expose audience
and artists to a variety of brief performances in one
evening. 8pm, $6, all
ages.
The Dark Night Cabaret is presented at The University
of Pittsburgh's
Henry Heymann Theatre, downstairs at The Stephen
Foster Memorial, on Forbes
Avenue, adjacent to the Cathedral of Learning in
Oakland.

Thursday, August 28th Pittsburgh Aids Task Force
Benefit- a group of
local musicians will come together for the Raincheck
Concert to benefit the
Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (PATF). The performance,
created to help
PATF raise much-needed funds.City Paper's Justin
Hopper will host the
musicians donating their talents, including
singer/songwriter Carol Lee Espy
from WQED's On Q, her husband and former Rusted Root
drummer, Jim
Dispirito, world/rock band, Soma Mestizo, Broadway
performer, Carla Bianco,
singer/songwriter, Patrick Arena, and the 'Rainbow Kid
Singers' Blake
Stadnik, Joe, John and Desarae Fedore and Allyson
Dietrich. @
