City Theatre Announces an Open House and Party with the Stars

Evening includes behind-the-scenes tours, interactive seat selection, entertainment & more

PITTSBURGH (September 3, 2003) City Theatre will host an Open House and Party with the Stars of our 2003-04 season from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2003. Expected to attend are Sheila McKenna and Helena Ruoti (String of Pearls); Lenora Nemetz, Dan Krell and Stephanie Riso (Café Puttanesca); and Bingo O’Mally (Gompers). In addition, a special announcement, via video, will be made by actress/songstress Jilline Ringle.

From 6 to 7 p.m. in the Gordon Lounge, complimentary sushi and other appetizers will be provided by Nakama Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, South Side’s newest eatery, located at the corner of 17thand Carson Streets. Free wine and beer will also be offered.

Other highlights include:

*Guided behind-the-scenes tours of City Theatre’s three-building complex will begin from the Gordon Lounge every 15 minutes.

*Seats in the mainstage will be coded so that potential subscribers may try several locations, then pull off the tag saying “Make This Seat Mine” and take it to the Box Office to receive their season seating assignment.

*At several points during the evening the Box Office will be staffed by various actors who will be part of City Theatre’s 2003-04 season.

*At 7:30 p.m. a season sampler of entertainment will take place on the mainstage.

*A drawing will be held offering complimentary dinners provided by restaurants that are a part of City Theatre’s Cast of Caterers and a special gift will be given to anyone who purchases a season subscription during the open house event.

The Open House and Party with the Stars is designed to enhance City Theatre’s 2003-04 subscription campaign. Since deciding this year to end telemarketing, the organization is committed to finding inventive ways to increase awareness about programming.
