FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

RICKETY RIDES AGAIN!
Rickety Worldwide presents a Summer Showcase at the Brew House, every
Saturday in June. The concert series is offered in conjunction with an
educational workshop series presented by Pittsburgh Music Works.
Proceeds
from the events will benefit both Rickety Worldwide and Pittsburgh
Music
Works.

Rickety Worldwide has been a loose collective of musicians, writers,
filmmakers and visual artists functioning in Pittsburgh since 1995.
Rickety
hosted weekly showcases for new local bands from 1996 2000, first at
the
then-Tobacco Roadhouse in Oakland, then at the 31st St. Pub. The
upcoming
concert series is planned as a kick-start for the recording label arm
of
Rickety Worldwide, Rickety Records. Local bands affiliated with Rickety
include the Johnsons Big Band, the Viragos, Dirty Faces and the Working
Poor.  Also featured in the series will be several guest bands from
Brooklyn, NY‹Jagjaguwar recording artists Oneida and Oakley Hall.

Pittsburgh Music Works (PMW) is a non-profit organization formed in
Pittsburgh in 2001. PMW offers educational opportunities and resources
for
musicians and those who are curious about becoming musicians.  Previous
PMW
workshops have been held at locations such as Club Café, Mr. Small¹s
Funhouse and Pittsburgh Filmmakers. The June workshop series will cover
such
topics as how to set up a stage for a musical event, how to record a
live
musical event, and a gear-troubleshooting workshop for working
musicians.
PMW will also use this opportunity for an equipment drive. Those who
wish to
make a charitable, tax-deductible donation of musical instruments or
other
music-related gear can drop off their donation at the Brewhouse on any
of
the Saturdays in June.
