Mon Jun 2nd - The DARK NIGHT Cabaret. Underground performance art at its finest. This month's installment features stand-up comic Melissa Ann Mann hosts the evening’s festivities. Having performed previously with DNC producer Dave Mansueto at Monday Talk Talk and with the improv comedy group Alligator with an Apple, Melissa will perform a short comedy set in addition to her hosting duties. Although she is better known to the DNC audience as a critically acclaimed filmmaker, Alycia Knauer returns to our stage as a spoken word artist, premiering some of her original short stories. Next, recent expatriate to L.A. Sally Randa returns to the steel city to perform an excerpt from her new comedic one woman show "Pittsburgh". Sally describes the piece as her observations on “growing up in Pittsburgh, inspired by a painful deep tissue massage.” Videographer Chris Ivey will show some of his recent work, mixing Addy award winning commercials for Jones Soda and The Washington Wild Things with music videos for J-Live, Soma Mestizo, and 3 Generations Walking. And finally, our featured act is southwestern PA’s premiere Tom Jones cover band, The New Pussycats. The five piece tribute band, which features the talents and tongue-in-cheek humor of keyboardist Jeff Cubeta and vocalist Darcy Trunzo, has appeared at weddings, bar mitzvas, auto shows, stag parties and dive bars, as well as Monday Talk Talk and 100 Bands 31 Nights. The album, Stovall's first full-length solo release, was recorded live at the Shadow Lounge on April 20, 2003.  This is the first artist project under Urban Kontent Brand, a division of the 7th Movement Development.
